The English Academy began at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church in 2023. Over 400 students have taken our classes since then.

If you would like to improve your English, and practice listening and talking in English, you will enjoy our classes. Our students come from many countries, and speak many languages.

We offer three levels of English classes:

Beginner 1

For students with little English ability.

Beginner 2

For students with some basic English ability.

Intermediate 2

For anyone who wants to practice conversational English.

Our classes are in two-month “terms.” You can start attending classes on any Saturday during a term. The classes are small, so students get individual attention from the teachers.

All the classes are free, and are held on Saturday mornings, starting at 10:30 am. Beginners 1 and 2 use a textbook with pictures that costs $5.00. The classes include a list of vocabulary words and many short activities. Every student has opportunities to talk and read in English during the classes. All the classes end promptly at 12:00 noon.
